Some disabilities are hidden, and people living with them can sometimes find it hard to navigate everyday life. Solsikkeprogrammet – the Sunflower Scheme is an organisation that gives people with hidden disabilities a simple tool: the sunflower lanyard. It is a simple tool for people to share that they have a hidden disability and choose to wear the Sunflower voluntarily. Simply by wearing the Sunflower, they are just letting everyone know that they might need extra help, understanding, or just more time.
At Evnia, we believe that we have a responsibility towards society. No man is an island – we should be aware of others and treat them with respect and care in every situation. Solsikkeprogrammet facilitates that. We wish to do our part as an organisation, educate ourselves and make sure that we are well equipped to respond to any situation that rises with care. We choose to support them because we stand with those who seek, strive and ultimately find ways to improve our society and help to create a caring and inclusive environment for all.
