International Mother Earth Day was established through a UN resolution in 2009 that “recognizes the Earth and its ecosystems as humanity’s common home and the need to protect her to enhance people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change, and stop the collapse of biodiversity”
These past decades human activity has burdened our planet, in some cases in nearly irreversible ways.
And while the future may sometimes seem bleak, there is still hope as long as we are all decided to make progress together.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the UN, are a series of goals that call for action for the betterment of our world. Sustainable Development Goal n°13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts can only be met through education, awareness and of course commitment.
